Renovations · High-End Interior Finishes

High-End Interior Finishes.

Venetian plaster. Book-matched stone. Farrow & Ball paint. Hand-laid tile. The finishes that separate a nice interior from a shot-worthy one. Named specifically in the proposal — finisher, product code, sheen, coat count.

What's included · what's not

The full high-end finish scope in writing before we open a can.

High-end finishes fail on shortcuts. Venetian plaster over unprepped drywall. Farrow & Ball on the wrong primer. Book-matched slabs cut without laying up. Every product is named — brand, code, sheen — and every prep step lives in the fixed-bid proposal. Timeline: 3–8 weeks typical.

Why owners pick Dellamano for finish work

The reason the plaster wall actually looks like plaster in five years.

01Named finisher on every wall

Not “a painter.” The specific specialist — who’s done plaster or book-matched stone for us on prior high-end jobs — is on the proposal.

02Product spec by code

Farrow & Ball colour number, sheen name, primer manufacturer, coat count. No “equivalent” substitutions after signing.

03Cure-time sequencing

Venetian plaster needs 5–7 days between coats. Book-matched stone needs to dry-lay before install. Every cure window scheduled with adjacent trades so nothing gets scuffed.

04One warranty conversation

One contractor, one signature, one number to call if a joint opens or a plaster edge chips.

Frequently asked

High-End Finishes · the questions Aldo answers every week.

Who actually applies the Venetian plaster?

A dedicated finisher we’ve worked with for years — not a general painter. Venetian plaster (marmorino, tadelakt, stucco veneziano) is a five-to-seven-coat lime-based finish that lives or dies on trowel discipline and cure timing. The finisher’s name is on the proposal so you know who’s on the wall.

How do you handle book-matched stone slab layout?

We select the specific slab pair at the fabricator, mark cut lines on the slab so the grain reads as one book across the seam, and dry-lay before install. Fireplace surrounds, waterfall islands, and stone accent walls are drawn to the veining, not to standard cut lists.

Do you work with designer paint lines like Farrow & Ball or Portola?

Regularly. The specific color code, sheen (dead flat, modern eggshell, full-gloss), and coat count are named in the fixed-bid proposal. Farrow & Ball paints in particular need proper primer and cure time — we don’t shortcut that.

What’s the timeline for high-end finish work across a full house?

Three to eight weeks depending on how much of the house gets what treatment. Venetian plaster in a single foyer: 4–6 days. Book-matched stone fireplace wall: 1–2 weeks including slab selection. Hand-laid mosaic tile feature wall: 3–5 days. Timelines are sequenced with cabinetry and flooring so painters and finishers aren’t tripping over each other.
