What's included · what's not

The full ac installation & replacement scope in writing before we start.

AC in South Florida runs ten months a year. Undersize and it never catches up; oversize and it short-cycles and dies young. Sizing matters more here than almost anywhere in the country.

Why owners pick Dellamano for AC replacement

The reason a new AC actually holds its efficiency for 15 years.

01Sized to your envelope

Manual J load calc on every install — not a lazy tonnage match to what the old unit was.

02Owner-held Mechanical license

Aldo personally holds FL #CMC1251666. Every install signed by the qualifier doing the work.

03Electrical in-house

New whip, disconnect, and (if needed) breaker upgrade under Aldo’s own EC license — one crew, one day.

04Real vacuum + nitrogen test

Not a five-minute pump-down. Deep vacuum to 500 microns and nitrogen leak test on every install — the two shortcuts that kill compressors early.

Frequently asked

AC Installation & Replacement · the questions Aldo answers every week.

How do I know if I need a new AC or just a repair?

Age plus refrigerant. If the unit is 12+ years old, still on R-22, and needs more than a $500 repair, replacement usually pencils out. We’ll walk it, pressure-test the existing system, and give you both numbers before you decide.

SEER2 15.2 or higher — is the efficiency upgrade worth it in South Florida?

Usually yes, because the AC runs so many hours here. Moving from a SEER 14 to SEER2 17 typically saves $250–$450 per year on FPL. Inverter-driven variable-speed units (SEER2 18–20+) pay back faster on larger homes.

Can you install a mini-split for a Florida room or addition?

Regularly. Extending the main ductwork to an addition usually starves the rest of the house. Single-zone or multi-zone ductless is almost always the right answer — permitted and inspected the same as central.

Do you install and warranty a customer-supplied unit?

Generally no. Manufacturer warranties on customer-supplied equipment run 1 year vs. 10 years when installed by a licensed contractor purchasing through the distributor. We’ll be transparent about the tradeoff before you buy.
